She also specializes in assessment for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), diagnostic clarification, learning difficulties, and social and emotional difficulties. Dr. Mirzapolos takes a systemic approach to therapy, where she takes into consideration not only the child, but how parents/caregivers, schools, peers, and other professionals play a role in the child’s presenting problem. She views parents/caregivers as an essential aspect of therapeutic change and thus, incorporates them into therapy as needed. Her research has focused on examining the potential overdiagnosis of ADHD among children and adolescents. In her free time, Dr. Mirzapolos enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching reality television, dancing, and working out.
