Bryce Hella, Ph.D.

Bryce Hella, Ph.D. Headshot

Dr. Hella received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois Institute of Technology and her B.A. from the University of Michigan. She completed her predoctoral internship at the University of Minnesota Medical School, where she focused on child clinical and pediatric psychology. Areas of specialization include anxiety disorders (including OCD), depression, ADHD, behavior problems, early childhood, parent-child issues, adjustment to medical illnesses, adherence to medical treatment and clinical assessment. Dr. Hella has experience working with children, adolescents and adults in a wide range of settings such as university-based outpatient clinics, hospitals, private practices, community mental health centers, and schools. Research interests have included parenting, fathers, early childhood risk factors for behavior and emotional problems and Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).

Dr. Hella uses research-supported therapies to inform her treatment including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). She also uses a Family Systems approach and attempts to involve the client's family as appropriate throughout the therapeutic process. Her philosophy is to provide goal-directed, research-based services that are individualized to each client. She assesses client progress regularly to improve treatment. The amount of time Dr. Hella spends working with a client depends on his/her age, the primary concerns, and the needs of the particular family.

Outside of work, Dr. Hella enjoys playing volleyball, cheering on her undergraduate alma mater, reading and spending time with friends and family.
